South East Harvest Festival is happening on 7, 8, and 9 Nov 2014. This year’s event is sponsored by WIN TV. Jacquie French and Costa have already committed to attend and host activities.
The festival committee would like local businesses to get behind the event and the idea of growing food locally.
To achieve this, the idea of a mobile garden pot with edible plants displayed outside each business has been put forward for your comment. The pot has lockable castors for easy movement at opening and closing times and can be lifted by 2 people if required. The festival committee will provide the pots and plants for free along with promo signage. You just have to add water!
A second proposal is for food outlets to have at least one item on their menu or shelves that is made wholly of local food/produce.
The festival committee would appreciate your thoughts on these proposals before making a final decision. Email chamber@moruya.nsw.au
From its original inhabitants, the Bugelli-Manji tribe, to bushrangers, the Gold Rush and beyond, Moruya has a rich history filled with the colour and romance typical of Australia's early days.
